The Monsterican Dream Era 2004-2005

Postby Monsta » Thu Dec 09, 2010 8:54 pm

I have been more and more curious about the era between 2004-2005.
It feels like that's the era that has been most "not archived". It does not exist so many pictures, videos and so on from that time.
I'm very interested in what stageshow they had (yes I know there is pictures and descriptions on MDH but I would like to know what function they had in the stageshow).
Also setlists, pictures and videos. If you have pictures or videos from concerts between 2004-2005, maybe you can share them here?
And ofcourse, if you where there, please share your memories and so on here! :)

Anybody have footage from the concert played by Lordi that was shown in The Kin making of beginning?

And because this era is the most mysterious..it's also the most fascinating and monster-like.
Actually I'm a Plumber.

Setlist from my first Lordi Show:

Oberhausen, 2004 "Icebreaker Festivals" HammerFall, with Firewind, Thunderstone and Lordi

1. Get Heavy
2. My Heaven Is Your Hell
3. Blood Red Sandman
4. The Children Of The Night
5. Pet The Destroyer
6. Devil Is A Loser
7. Would You Love A Monsterman

I believe in the other shows with HammerFall they had the same setlist.

So no other songs... ;)

This era is indeed the one most users here knows the least about, even myself have basically not much info at all about it.
Would love to see one day a release of a live DVD or video from this eras gigs. :) The same with Get heavy era.

But y`all know what the band said that they have plans to release a big box of DVD´s in the future, so lets hope we can see some from Get heavy and monsterican dream eras in that box. :)

Also take a look at Psyanides thread of props Lordi have used. There you can see much props they used in the monsterican dream era. :)

I have seen Lordi live at Raumanmeri recording, it took place in June, year 2003. They played most of the Get Heavy songs, but I just don't remember that there was one song then they didn't play from the album. It was also their first time at a festival's main stage. Check out it from Youtube.

Well that's really not related to MD era. ;)

All I know is that they got no money of European Monstour. Sad. :(

Interesting topic indeed... It's strange to see Awa (with The Arockalypse costume) together with Kalma, and the band in their MD costumes...

I've noticed a strange thing:

Image

Notice Kita's wide mouth... And he doesn't have those 'sticks' in his hair.

Here he has a much smaller mouth and he doesn't look like the other one at all. It looks like the GH era costume. (But I'm not sure)

On the MD album cover Kita has the face like on the second picture, but on The Monster Show he has the face on the first picture. But both albums were made in the MD era. So actually Kita had 2 costumes in the MD era. I don't know the details of this, maybe someone can help me figure it out?

If I got it right from what BotB said to me in the past: Lordi made a small update on the costumes in 2005 sometime and they looked even more fresh.
Think it was in 2004 he made the original costumes which that Kita picture comes from. But that was what I readed from it many years ago so I´m happy if someone can correct me and say the real thing. :)

Their mouths can open. His mouth is open in the Monster Show picture, and yes, there is those 'sticks'. Look carefully. :)

Now I see... But his face still isn't the same. The TMS one is like a circle, while the MD one is more like an oval...

Well, you can't really compare them as the MD cover is a painting. ;) The Monster Show picture is the same costume as in the small picture below MD cover.

Yeah, I wonder that too. Does anyone have more information about that? Was there anything more filmed from that concert?

I found something more (it seems to be like "Blood Red Sandman"-video thematic stage). But I read on Mie oon Lordi, that it was very tough time - no-one didn't earn anything (Amen had to sold his apartment and Kalma left because of that).

I got this DVD Bootleg, it's really annoying, you don't see Kita once during all the gig !

Some of the best Lordi shows I've seen were during this era. Especially at Rovaniemi in december 2004... that has to be the best. The crowd was just insane (Lordi's first show at the big boss' hometown) and the band was energetic as hell. To be honest, I miss Kalma and Enary because they were so much showy than their followers.

Also the stage set was great. The haunted house, plain and simple.

As much as everyone would probably like to see it, it is illegal, so no. You want to discuss that, elsewhere is the place.
