Seeling or DISTRIBUTING is illegal. Not licensed by the band, it's illegal. Cmon Joni, you should know that.

Yes. The Finnish girl pop band Gimmel was on Lordi's first gig in the audience! (Also other celebrities were there).

Lordi - första spelningen
2002/07/12 Nosturi, Helsingfors
07.12.2002 00:00

Sounds of helvete var bra.

Sammantaget visar var full ganska anständigt show.

Reviving this topic.

Found a review from one of their shows in France 2005: http://www.reflectionsofdarkness.com/ar ... paris-2005 It seems there weren't many people attending the concerts of the European Monstour. Was this true?

This era still intrigues me a lot, and I'm DYING to see some footage from it, hopefully this DVD that is supposed to be sold during the next tour will contain some. There are some bootlegs in circulation, I know there's atleast one from Milano 2005 which some people have. Are there any more existing?

Nice found, Monsta. Yep, there weren't too many people on their 2005 gigs at least on Russian shows where only 70 tickets were sold.
Also check out pics from St. Petersburg show :)

And Moscow show
http://darkside.ru/report/848/

For sure it was one of their least profitable tours.

Why was that? Poor promotion, or was there just no interest in Lordi around that time?

Thanks for the pictures, it's always strange to see pictures of Awa with that line-up. The shows in the end of 2005 also seemed to be in some sort of a transition-period, from what i recall the props on that stage weren't used on their Monsterican shows?

I think they simply weren't famous enough to tour in Europe.
From what I know, audience on the gigs I mentioned was mainly Kiss/ Alice Cooper fans from fan forums.

Yeah, and you don't have to forget, that the first two albums were released only in Finland and GSA-Area... even that Monster Show-Bestof wasn't available in entire Europe. Naturally there were only a handful people who did actually know about lordi, therefor the audience wasn't that big. Popularity outside Finland and Germany started to grow until their appearance on the Song Contest...

Hemitys wrote:Some of the best Lordi shows I've seen were during this era. Especially at Rovaniemi in december 2004... that has to be the best. The crowd was just insane (Lordi's first show at the big boss' hometown) and the band was energetic as hell. To be honest, I miss Kalma and Enary because they were so much showy than their followers.

Also the stage set was great. The haunted house, plain and simple.

I came to tell this story but noticed I had already done it few years ago :) Well, opinion hasn't changed since. Rovaniemi 04 is still the best Lordi show I've seen. You know you're getting old when you get nostalgic feelings from a show was just recently. And by recently I mean 10 years ago.

I thing I forgot to tell was that after the show had ended, after the encore which was Monsterman, the people didn't stop shouting and clapping their hands. They (or we) were just nuts. Obviously the band didn't have any other songs to perform but majority of the audience didn't know that. So after 5-10 minutes of just pure audience reaction the band was forced to enter the stage once again, just to give thumbs up and bow down to the audience one more time. Haven't seen this since, not even on other bands' shows. So cool.

I always believed that Lordi could release more concert DVDs, because it's a band which is worth seeing, not only listening to. I'd love to get a big DVD box set with videos from every era, it would be a helluva release!..

Get Heavy and Monster Show were released in Russia and I believe, in CIS as well.
