10th Lordi album

Postby ksco » Sun Aug 25, 2019 11:00 pm

So, Sexorcism era just ended, OX left the band and now we are waiting for the new look, new bassist and first info about a new album. For sure we will know some things before their gigs in October in Greece.
I know this place unfortunately is pretty dead now, but I so love this place and have many amazing memories about this forum so I hope we can have maybe a lil bit of conversation about the upcoming anniversary 10th album.
(and hope that someone can delete these russians spams from the last days  )

No problem! I am pissed about these spams on the forum too so yeah the admins should seriously start doing something about it.

Exciting! Mr.L stated in a recent interview that the band will do a photoshoot in the middle of September. Hopefully we will see the new costumes + the new member in the beginning of October. That's my guess.

Came back to this forum for some nostalgia and to see if it was still in any way active but could barely navigate because of all the viagra(? commercial

I know this topic is for discussion about the upcoming Lordi album, but wanted to pop by just to say how I miss this place! It really isn't the same anymore with all the strange Facebook groups where there's no real room for discussion, as opposed to here. I really miss nerding out to this band, you know. Hope the few of you reading this are doing well!

That's great. Even the forum seems to be dead, I love it here.

Btw. I'm excited for Killection. Can't wait 'till it's out! ♡

Glad to hear that cuz u didn't show up here from a many months haha :D PS. Hiisi costume looks awesome, reminds me of Predator

And as Monsta said unfortunately this place isn't the same in the era of this facebook groups, for me this place is the best for the discussion about our lovely band :P Facebook is good to share information but no to discussion, read and write comments on posts is so bad to make a good convo... Well, maybe it's a time to write more things here? To invite our monsterboard friends to come back to this forum? To make this place like it was even 4-5 years ago.. It would be amazing to see about 10,15 or 20 new posts day by day like it was in the past :)

The full tracklist and the album cover are officially released via Lordi's Facebook page.
Seems like there are going to be a lot of interludes with the SCG thingies.

I really dig the whole concept, can't wait to hear that vintage sound. :D
Only the album cover is a bit "simple" and weird. But maybe it will all make scense once we heard the music.

01 Radio SCG 10
02 Horror For Hire
03 Shake The Baby Silent
04 Like A Bee To The Honey
05 Apollyon
06 SCG10 The Last Hour
07 Blow My Fuse
08 I Dug A Hole In The Yard For You
09 Zombimbo
10 Up To No Good
11 SCG10 Demonic Semitones
12 Cutterfly
13 Evil
14 Scream Demon
15 SCG10 I Am Here
(Session) Drummer Ash

The Cover art already makes sense as it shows a collection of killed beings - a killection so to say, I'm a fan of the cover art. I always loved Mr.L's way of painting.
I think most compilations have more than 11 songs, I was hoping for around 15 songs or something.
Tracklist is great. Do you think, 70's songs are behind each other in the running order and then a bunch of 80's songs or are they mixed up? Blow my fuse and Zombimbo are 70's songs and Up to no good and Cutterfly are 80's songs at least and they are close together but I can't see a concept in the order with the SCG's...

The cover art looks a bit busy to my eyes. Probably because the title blends into the background so my eyes have a hard time focusing. A change of color would fix that right up. Otherwise I love the idea of the heads on the wall, the references hidden in the little plaques under the heads, and the inclusion of the little subtitle "A Fictional Compilation Album". I don't like the blue chosen for the Lordi logo at all, but I absolutely adore the song titles. "Shake the Baby Silent" and "I Dug a Hole in the Yard for You" especially made me chuckle. :D

I really like the idea of the cover but as Markus said it's a bit hard to read the title there, maybe there's too many things or just colours are not the right ones but at all it's really good idea of the cover for this album. About the tracklist, oh my lordi, 4 SCG on 1 album? I didn't even think that could happen, but okay, I guess these SCGs can be a good interludes between those "eras of songs", I mean maybe those SCGs are between '70s '80s '90s and now. Oh and when I saw 15 songs on the tracklist I was like OH HELL YES, SO MANY SONGS TO LISTEN and then I realized there are 4 SCGs and I was like SHIT, 11. XD Also after seeing titles, the songs I am waitng for are the last three: Cutterfly, Evil and Scream Demon.

After not enjoying the last album mainly because of the lyrics, the new one sounds really promising. The idea is great, can’t wait to hear what the 70s Lordi stuff will sound like. Most of the song titles sound cool, although a few play of words sound a bit forced.
The cover is nice, but is it just me or is everything a little bit tilted?
Oh and the new bass player looks cool, kind of reminds me of Kalma a bit. Especially the side portrait on the Lordi website looks badass.

When do you think will the first single be released? Probably before Christmas I would say.

First single will be probably released in December. The first single has always been released approximately one month before the album.

I just thought that songs from '80s can sound like BFB cuz this album was made in style of '80s. Especially this echo/weird sound of drums.

I like the cover, even though at first glance it seems a bit too fully packed, like the heads are placed too close together which lessens the impact of the obvious one we should be most focused on, but that's just nitpicking. As for the songs, I instantly got excited over Shake the Baby Silent, I Dug A Hole In The Yard For You, Cutterfly and Scream Demon. And I'm really curious to learn what Apollyon is all about. Right now I have no faintest idea.
I wonder which song will end up being the first single, or what kind of music video we'll be getting.

I wonder the same thing since whatever song they choose probably won't end up reflecting the rest of the album at all due to it having no unified sound. Maybe the "new" song in the style of 2019 Lordi might be a safe bet? :P

Zombi + bimbo (usually stupid blond female) = Zombimbo

Apollyon isn't really a pun at all. It's some kind of demon described in the Bible, that leads the locust to Egypt.

I'm just thinking about something: The whole concept is very awesome, but I'm really curious how they are going to pull this off live.

It's great to have a vintage sound by having the songs recorded on tape with authentic instruments, but live they are going to play with the modern instruments... Ah well guess we'll see :)

In general we have what 2-3 songs of new album on tour.

Probably "Horror For Hire" (Intro song), the single and maybe a other one.
