Amen!

Did you ever imagine that a Police Officer in the USA would be a Lordi fan? Hard to believe, I know.

Q: Did you consider portraying any other characters before deciding on "The Mummy"?

Q: Your character is well portrayed! You must be a horror film fan? What would be your favorite movie in this genre?

Stay Mummyfied!
Hope to see you in the USA

Hey there Amen.

I think you have done some really cool guitar work on the album.
Keep up the good work :D .

I was just wondering what your musical influences are or what guys inspired you to play?

Hope to see you at Wacken

Hahaa :P Not even my wildest dreams!!! But man, it's really great!!!

progcop wrote:Q: Did you consider portraying any other characters before deciding on "The Mummy"?

It's a long story..but yes, there was another idea for that character. The face was exactly same but everything else wasn't. It was somekind of redneck porno-Caesar wearing on leather :D I still have those pictures from that time and man, I have to tell you I'll get always good laugh when watching those! :P And I'm glad we decided not to do that one :P

progcop wrote:Q: Your character is well portrayed! You must be a horror film fan? What would be your favorite movie in this genre?

Well, I don't consider myself any more crazy horror film fan than ordinary people are. Of course I like to watch movies of that genre, like everyone else in Lordi, except Kita! :P Favorite one...hmm..when I was teenager I liked to watch Elm Streets, so maybe those have influenced me most.

I will! It would be dream come true to come USA and having a blasting show in Madison Square Garden!!! Someday, my friends, someday...

I have a question. When you go to the bathroom do you have to unwrap all your bandages and then re-mummify yourself when you've finished ?

Seriously though, when it comes to horror films, the best ones are the funny ones. My favourite horror films are "Braindead" and "Bad Taste" - both directed by Peter Jackson (yes, the lord of the rings guy). Those films aren't scary at all, the objective of the films is to make you laugh rather than to scare you, it's a bit like watching a live-action version of "itchy and scratchy" from the Simpsons.

Hey there!
Musical influences...hmm..what comes to a bands I could mention Guns' n Roses, SKid Row, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Black Crowes, Mötley Crue, Anthrax, Hanoi Rocks etc. and above all:KISS! And what comes to a guitarists...well, I don't like at all "Malmsteen/Satriani" -kind of playing, that's okay, but it's not rock 'n roll as I see it. I love guitarists like Angus Young, Joe Perry, Jimmy Page, Ace Frehley, Slash...that kind of guitar playing is closest to my heart.

Thanks for answering my question.

I agree with what you say there too. I don't like all the flashy Malmsteen/Satriani stuff. It's just showing off.

Angus Young is a great guitarist without a 45-minute solo

I like flashy guitaring, but I much prefer Angus Young to people like Malmsteen and Satriani. Angus's stuff isn't all that technical, but it always sounds supremely cool. Slash, Ace Frehly and Joe Perry are awesome too.

I bet it can get annoying if one of your bandages becomes loose and gets stuck in a elevator door, a car door or an escalator.

It's bad enough getting a shoelace caught in an escalator.

Your Guitar

Postby MetalBeast » Sat Feb 08, 2003 2:29 am

Your gibson is cool, but I think it would be even cooler if you had a customised guitar that fitted in more closely with the whole mummy concept.

You could have a gibson custom-painted to look as if it had been mummified.

Or even better, get a Johnny Frog guitar, similar to this one...

Image

(I believe this one was made for George Lynch)

I'm sure Johnny Frog could make one that would match your costume perfectly. He could perhaps do a bass for Kalma too. It might be expensive, but you guys look like you invest a lot in your stage show anyway.

Yeah, I have, but we won't release those  but if we someday release "Lordi-box" we will definitely put some early dayz pictures of the band in to it, so you just have to wait for it

Hey Amen!! If you could, do you whip people with your bandages when you're on stage? That'd be sweet.

Hmm although I LOVE the monster concept of your band, I would NOT want you to take a custom guitar. OK it's your decision, but I think if you had a guitar that doesn't look like one any more and is painted also in monster style, this wouldn't be so good. You won't notice the guitar any more :D

If I played in such a monster band, I would just use a normal guitar. Otherwise it would be just tooo over-monstrous :)

(But I have to admit that your guitar is EXACTLY the guitar that I'm going to buy, because I like that honeyburst finish :), but in spite of this I would think about it again. In my opinion it looks better when the guitar is "normal")

Or you could also change to a explorer or something, if you want it a little bit more extravagant. But really I would once more think about if it's really necessary to have a guitar that nearly looks like yourself :)

Heys ZeHa, I got a new guitar just before the W:O:A Roadshow, and don't worry :) , it's not too monsterous, it's Tokai and it looks very similar to Gibson's models. But I see your point there and I have to admit that I agree with you. I think that special-custom-guitars could be cool to use in one song but that's it...personally I like the way band looks now, monster-outfits with "normal" instruments
