Greatings from the living Amen.

I was just looking at the pics from the Helsinki gig thats just been and I noticed that you have a new guitar, it's a les paul like your Gibson and Tokai but it's in a wine red colour, is this your drop D tuned guitar or is it a nice shiny new one.

I hate Slipknot too.

A lot of people seem to compare Lordi to Slipknot in terms of the way they look, but Lordi obviously put a hell of a lot more effort into their costumes than Slipknot.

Lordi have better costumes
Lordi have better songs
Lordi have a better sound
Lordi have a better attitude
Lordi are superior to Slipknot in every way imaginable.

Comparing Lordi to Slipknot is like comparing a gold ingot to a dog-turd.

Hay Amen

How are you? What goes on with Lordi. How did the concerts work?

Are there any further concerts near? In Germany or Switzerland?
:?:

Rock on Lordi tho, There's still plenty of turf for them to conquer  .

Hello there Amen, I can remember your words from the studio diary

"We ended up using the Baritone in seven songs. We used different tunes with different songs."

Now I've never heard a Baritone but your description gives me a good idea of what one sounds like.

My question is, if it isn't too much trouble: Now that the Album is done and out there kicking some ass, what were the seven songs you used your quite stylish Baritone in?

I've listened to The Monsterican Dream a hundred times and I realy realy love every song on there, I'm wondering if I should get a Baritone as soon as possible, or is it a weapon for the more seasoned guitarist?

Thanks for replying if you do Amen, Stay Heavy and keep on Rockin  .

Hi,
sorry this answer took so long time.
Anyway, you got some advises already..but personally I think that u should play guitar the way YOU wanna play it! Try to find best possible way to punish your guitar and play the way you find pleasant.
You know, guitar is like a woman, different guitars feels different and way you play doesn't really matter as long as you achieve a musical orgasm  with thumb on the top string or not, main thing is that you and your guitar are the same.

Beauty of the beast wrote:Do you and Kalma get along well togeather? Because on every pic I see of you two you are playing togeather having what looks like a great time.

We get along very well! We have always a really fun time on the stage, and we often have a little chats during the songs, like "How u doin'? It's fuckin' hot out there tonight! Yea, did you saw that beautiful lady in a front row? Where? Over there! Oh yeah, I have to go and throw a pick for her, catcha later" :D

Beauty of the beast wrote:And did you enjoy recording or even playing the new songs more or less than Get Heavy.

A really, REALLY, hard question. I think I was having a more fun when recording Get Heavy but of course, riffs on the MD are killers and I LOVE to play those.

Okay, that's a deal
citylite wrote:Do you think you'll ever release an "Unmasked" album like Kiss did ?
I have seen you, Enary and Kalma without your outfits, but I'd be curious to see Lordi and Kita :D

Hmm...u mean KISS album "Unmasked" or do you mean that are we gonna take our makeup off someday? Anyway, answer to the both questions is the same: DEFINITELY NOT! I also play in another band, unmasked, and it's lot of fun also, but Lordi without costumes, never.

Well, u mean probably from the music scene..
Bands like KISS, Twisted Sister, WASP, Mötley Crue, Skid Row, Hanoi Rocks, Zeppelin, Aerosmith etc.
I like guitarists like Joe Perry, Ace Frehley, Jimmy Page, Clapton and so on. I have always been quite "blues"-oriented, and that's why I love guitarists whose basic sound is blues. Murderdolls and Slipknot..well, let's say that those are not my friends ;)
