I have great interest for all kind of health conditions and syndromes and stuff like that, especially rare ones. When I find an interesting disorder, I keep researching it and try to find more and more info about it. There are so many disorders that I have researched over the years that I can't even remember all of them any more. And no, I don't study medical science and never will.

Just to mention a few:

Anophthalmia (being born without eyes)
Xeroderma pigmentosum (severe sensitivity to sunlight)
Savantism (type of autism that gives a person an exceptional talent in some field, like mathematics)
Paraplegia (being paralyzed below hips)
Harlequin ichthyosis (skin cells growing too fast)
Cystic fibrosis (severe lung disease)
Congenital insensitivity to pain

I guess it all started when I was pre-teen and somehow got interested in HIV, asthma and epilepsy. My biggest interests of all time have propably been sirenomelia (mermaid syndrome), different forms of intersexuality, gender identity disorder and albinism.

I know I'm weird alright.

That's really interesting Kitawa! :)
(Even though I'm not that much into this entire medical stuff)

I'm really interested in serial killers and those kind of criminals and suicidal persons too.
To me it's really fascinating what is going on on their minds. (But sometimes it doesn't make life easier when you know whats happening in the minds of some people...)
I've read various books about the minds of serial killers and about criminologic psychology in general and now I'm studying it as a side subject. :)

Kitawa that's an interesting hobby. I actually do that sometimes too! I hope to go into a health care kind of job in the future. When I was in the 11th grade when I did my disease project in biology class I wrote a diary entry of a patient who had HIV. I got an A on that project.

Sorry to hear about that Isa. :( I remember learning about Cystic Fibrosis in biology class and it's pretty serious like Maddy said.

Another weird thing I am guilty of is I sometimes do weird stretches when I wake up in the morning. Not every morning but sometimes I do those stretches cats & dogs do when they wake up like with their front and back legs.

Since always, I have a fascination for weapons. I always wanted to own, but my parents do not want. I only have a Moroccan dagger. My dream is to own ancestral arms like a katana, the nunchakus, or sais.
No one has ever understood my fascination with weapons, some even say that it is a rather morbid hobby to have a passion for things that were created to kill, but me, it fascinates me, as I have a fascination for death.
I don't care about what people can say, but I don't want be judged for that.

"You need a weapon"..............sorry Master Chief reference

There are some people out there that are fascinated with weapons as well, not just you. It's not because they wanna kill people. Maybe they just like the way they look or how they work. My brother really likes a lot of military things from guns to tanks. No need to be ashamed as long as you don't plan to shoot an innocent person.

Sorry for the double post,

I don't think this hobby counts as strange. I buy action figures.

I'm not gonna say the word "collect" because collecting them is when you have shelf after shelf of action figures unopened from their original packaging. I buy action figures of my favourite characters from movies and video games, I take them out of their packages, display them on my shelf and dresser, and I even play with them; I just change their poses and take pictures of them. I am definitely not ashamed to do that. When I move out on my own, I'll get a good display case for my action figures in my future apartment.

Here's one picture of three villains I have: https://scontent-lga.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/v/t1.0-9/10953378_881132528613019_3317138068001494634_n.jpg?oh=383363b1d444f54a5a26bdfac1eb11e5&oe=557E4C28
The one in the middle is my latest add. I also have a few Funko Pop ones.

Oh, there's Megatron from the first live action Transformers-movie, Makuta from Lego Bionicle and....

Who's that villain in the middle exactly, Monsterlady38 ? I've no idea what that character is.

Ah, I figured no one would recognize the villain in the middle. It's the Didact from Halo 4 (idk if there are any Halo gamers on this forum). He's an underrated character but he's really interesting once you learn his backstory. He's more than a heartless monster once you learn more about him. :) my current avatar is a picture of him.

Another of my hobbies is the masks. I have several masks in my room ( for example, the mask of Jason Voorhees, a cyborg mask, a skull mask ......) I also had a Ghostface mask but I can not find it.
I always loved to wear masks, I feel different when I wear one, as if I left out the monster that lives in me.
I already wore many times my masks in the street. Of course people were quite surprised, but I did not care. I even wore my mask of Jason Voorhees to my second concert of Lordi.
In short, I have a passion for masks and I will continue. :)

I never understood this action figure thing to be honest. They look awesome and all, but what do you do with them? I wouldn't dare to play with them, especially when they have a special meaning to me.

That's a thing that I absolutely understand. I don't have masks, but I have my make up instead. It's like there is a whole new character when you put on the mask/make up. That's a pretty great feeling!
And mostly I do things like that for concerts, because that's like my place to let the "crazy" me take over.
About people staring; I don't care at all. To be honest, I enjoy that. The priceless looks on their faces, and some even ask for pictures.. Me likes.

Well, would anybody consider it's strange to travel for concerts? Because that's my most favorite thing to do!
I mean, mostly I do this weird stuff for Lordi, since they are my favorite band, but I also do that for other bands. And what's even better than just attending the gig? Taking some nice concert pictures. That's also a passion that developed within the past year.

And talking about collecting stuff: I recently started to buy comic books, that's really nice. I hope that my collection will be growing soon.

Well, you already answered to yourself - they have a special meaning and that's what they do. Or at least some people buy them for the collection's sake - not because those things can be useful. Collecting is for your soul.

Some people get them for collecting, and some people want them because hey.......they want their favourite fictional characters and this is a way they can be close to them. You just gave me an idea of what I should put on my blog next.

I was lately called a freak for writing letters to a death row prisoner. I never saw it strange myself, just a bit unusual. I personally feel I have gotten to know one of my very best friends by contacting a death row prisoner.

Hmmm Model kit building I guess is a weird hobby for someone who isnt a kid, have more or less all Russian and German tanks and cars and guns from ww2 in 1/72 scale and now started on making airplanes again, my models now look pro built so I´m pleased with it and it helps me to relax and get me to calm down and forget about time or was that due to the glue smell and all chemicals involved in it?

Being a military history freak with books and stuff from ww2 and being a reenactor for various ww2 shows and is active in the military here which is an odd thing in Sweden which today barely have an army or airforce let alone a navy xD

Else my hobbies are pretty normal.

Hei! Oudointa hänen harrastuksistaan on jatkuva halu voittaa leluja erikoiskoneista. Minulla on kotona kokoelma pehmoleluja, vaikka koirani on jo syönyt puolet niistä. Olen aina halunnut voittaa jotain järkeä. Nyt se auttaa minua ansaitsemaan pelaamalla ja voittamalla rahaa netissä https://raha-pelit.org/bingoon.htm
