Is Lordi like death metal or something!?

Sounds like like very scary and incredible evil music, why was this in eurovision...It's like satanist music.

Nooooo! Lordi is classic rock. It's not evil. They have songs like Hard Rock Hallelujah, Devil is a loser and rock the hell outta you. They are christian.

Death metal= people with long hair and spots going "WUUWUUWUUWUUWRAAAAAAA!!!!!"
Lordi= classic/glam rock. Like KISS, Alice Cooper.

Hard rock you mean!
And this guy is probably listening to pop so he finds lordi too heavy!

I never listened to Metal before Lordi (I was into Funk and Ska, still am actually), and at 1st i thought they were quite heavy.
Turns out, they hardly even classify as metal.

Now I listen to lots of metal (Metallica, Pantera, Children of Bodom, megadeth, etc) and realize Lordi isn't heavy at all. They're better than those other bands, but not heavy,

I classify Lordi as hard rock/glam rock. They are NOT heavy at ALL! They're like pop rock, but I love it!

And Mr. Lordi and Kita are both Christian's.

This is the reason I usually say spiritualist/Christian when asked about my religion. Far too many who claim to be Christian judge others at the drop of a hat based entirely on appearance. It doesn't matter what the music sounds like or what you wear. What matters is in the heart.

more definitions. Pop rock is normally assosciated with bands like... Bowling For Soup, Wheatus... Those sort of bands. American punk.

Lordi is glam rock minus sequins and spandex. Its simple. If they model themselves on KISS, and KISS is glam rock, Lordi must be a sort of... dark glam rock... if that makes sense. But yeah, definately not metal.

What I meant was Lordi are a rock band, but they have pop mixed in with the hard rock/glam. Jeez, I don't think it really matters what genre they are, there are so many sub-genre's it's crazy.

Don't be a bitch to new comers. I wonder the same thing, why was a hard rock band that looks like Lordi in Eurovision, a contest of pop and transgenders. Unless they meant it as an insult, then fuck em.

I classify Lordi as 80's style Shock Rock/Melodic Hard Rock.

Just wanted to ask if it is death, it sounds like death metal, and DEATH metal shouldn't be played in a contest like eurovision, then next time there will be marduk / dark throne ?

Just make it Metalvision next year, there will be only black / death metal bands  Just like lordi.

Eurovision should be a contest where all music is welcomed, so that all types of people and ages can enjoy it.
I listen to all kinds of music and i am glad Lordi were in the contest, because this year it was a big variation of music (maybe a bit more rock/guitar played music which is good) and i think it's thanks to Lordi.

Some may think that it's for wossy's and ''gay'' people, but that's even sillier then they might think that the contest itself is..

And THIS is Death Metal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTpQOZcNASw

So that is death, i thought lordi was :o

But still lordi is more heavy than this, they only bang drums and scream like hell no melody or music at all...sucks.

Yeah, IMO i think that death metal has no real feeling to it, never gave me a certain feeling. You can't hear what they are singing and you never get a hang of the melody either.

Lordi's lyrics are great and you can hear it and it gives you that special feeling.

Lordi are very much Not death metal :P.

Yeah, Lordi are about as much death metal as Mickey Mouse is a cow.

Just because Mr. Lordi sing's with a growl does not make it death metal. You could growl in a hip hop song and the music would still be hip hop, not death metal.

You can hear the music really clear, and the vocals are excellent. I love the fact that the backing vocals are really loud and powerful.

It's heavy rock, if you see The Beatles as rock. But normally I see them as pop rock, shock pop, pop metal or hard pop.

Come on, pop is not a NEGATIVE thing.
