Dimmu Borgir is cool!). They have played pop rock, classic rock, classic metal, rock ballads - Why not modern heavy metal? It would be awesome - And I think they would succes, since Mr. Lordi's voice works for so many styles.

Youre not so stupid either, linus  I also agree that Mr.Lordi has a voice suited for many different styles

*earth calling box-tickers*

WHO CARES?!?!?!

Personally, i love Lordi's songs, their new album makes me feel alive and the older stuff is more power music. I also love HIM, Bowling for Soup, Green Day, Turbonegro, Shania Twain, Rascall Flats and Avenged Sevenfold.

I listen to music depending on what mood im in. So i want to know i can rely on a band to make me feel this way when im in this mood and so on. I dont want bands constantly changing themselves to keep up with some stupid fashion or whatever. As oscar wilde said, "Fashion is a form of clothing so hideous that it has to be changed every six months."

Bands play what music speaks to them and what they like. We are all different and are all inspired by different things. This and this alone means theres more music and variation than you can ever make categories for. Everyone is unique.

Do what you like, like what you do, have fun and feel good. Dont waste time ticking boxes and sticking on labels. At the end of the day, it doesnt matter what class you were in and what name you were called. What matters is that you have memories to take with you, regardless of who or what was in them.

The MMM has spoken, thankyou very much   Love you really darling!

I agree with SMF: Why DO we have some many little sub-genres? :?

But, in referrence to the topic, I don't think Lordi should change their style. Their style is what KICKS ASS! :D I love their music, I mean, come, on... how many bands do you know could pull of a song like "BloodRed Sandman"? It's amazing just for the way it is.

I'd hate it if they changed their style of music; it's unique, one-of-a-kind, inspirational... it's what drew me to them in the first place. :D

When I started listening to rock and metal music...
I started with Queen,it seemed that Queen is most heavy band there is.
Then Metallica and stuff. The main problem is that you who want Lordi to be heavyer listen to to heavy music

Nah- death metal is made completly of satanists. Some bands, namely Dimmu Borgir, are black metal bands too, but not all of them.....take a look at this on, its actually against the devil:

Saying ALL deathmetal artists are satanists is generalizing. Do you know Vader, the best deathmetal band ever? I know Peter Wiwczarek, he's not a Satanist.

*I actually know Peter Wiwczarek from Vader, he's a good friend of my aunt...anyway, ending offtopic!*

Wikipedia states:

Black metal is an extreme heavy metal subgenre. It is typically characterized by the use of heavily-distorted guitars, high-pitched shrieking vocals, fast-paced rhythms and melodies, and unconventional song structures.

Black metal has been met with considerable hostility from mainstream culture, mainly because of the misanthropic and anti-Judeo-Christian attitude of many bands. This iconoclastic ideology is typical of black metal bands. Additionally, a few black metal bands have been known to have associations with church burnings, murder, and National Socialism. Black metal is generally seen as an underground form of music, in part because it does not appeal to mainstream tastes and because its musicians often choose to remain obscure.

I for one would not even believe that Lordi would consider Black Metal as a way to go. And I'd definately think they'd do a bad job of it. I'm not saying that they are poor musicians, they are not! But they grew up playing "Hard Rock" in a loose term, Their styles would reflect oddly in the Black Metal sub sub genre...

And why kill the fame you have?

I have heard a good few Black Metal songs / bands and even thought I understand that people have different "Musical" tastes, to me, Black Metal is in no way "Musical", It is noise gathered to effect angry emotions.
