Terror in USA

Postby _eesti999_ » Mon Oct 29, 2007 3:42 pm

Have you heard about bad news?
Lordi is currently in their second American tour and performed in Louisville, Kentucky last night. After the gig they had an unpleasant encounter with a gang of armed teenage drug addicts. Mr Lordi, his wife and Awa were in the bus just within meters from the incident while their manager and bodyguard were shot at and a fan was robbed.
The events started after the concert when Mr Lordi, his wife and Awa had just entered the tour bus. The rest of the band went into a nearby bar for a drink. Their tour manager Rikk Scholvinck and a bodyguard were escorting some of their fans towards the bus when a van appeared next to the bus and four (five according to the girl fan) teenagers jumped out of it. “One of the men with a gun took a fan, a girl, put the gun to her head and forced her to lie down on the ground. Also one of the boys froze on the spot while the others fled away, including Rikk and the bodyguard while another man started shooting at them. Luckily he missed and no one was hurt. Rikk run to the bar and called the police who arrived soon. In a moment we were surrounded by like five police cars but the guys managed to escape” tells Mr Lordi himself. “They were a group of drug addicts that had stolen the car earlier that night and police was already looking for them but has still not managed to catch them.”

“The girl that was held at gunpoint is obviously very shocked. We did our best to comfort and calm her down her but one can only wonder what could happen when people start running around with guns and even using them!” he continues. “It is a bit amusing that the boy fan was just happy he didn’t lose the t-shirt he was wearing with all the autographs on it, even if they both lost everything else.” The fans involved were given lifetime all access passes to Lordi shows worldwide as compensation.

This was a second time Lordi has had trouble in the USA. During their Ozzfest tour in the summer their tour bus was hijacked. Two of their fans were robbed on that occasion, too. “This was like a deja vú of that, once again we were surrounded by police cars and their flashing lights”

You can read the girl fan's story here.

Lordi became national heros in Finland after winning the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest with Hard rock hallelujah on Finland's 40th attempt in the contest.
What's going on in USA? First- Lordi tourbus was hijacked. And now shooting.

(Hey, quick sidenote, but could you change a little bit of the info around in your article? Just some names, for instance? Thanks.)

Shit, is this a legitimate article? Jeezus, I won't be surprised if they hate America now because this is twice in a row. I feel sorry for the girl especially, as that must have been just a emotional-scar for the rest of her life. (But in all honesty, if you think about it, this could have happened anywhere with the way the world is.)

Damn! That's terrible!

I can't believe people would do that, what's wrong with them?!

I'm really shocked about this news, and I'm glad no one was hurt. I feel sorry for the girl who had a gun pointed at her head, she must have been terrified. Also Rikk and his bodyguard deserve a medal for dodging the bullets and managing to phone the police.

It's really nice that the band gave them lifetime all access passes.

Holy crap, that's ridiculous!

Please, don't judge all Americans by these losers. This isn't what we're all like. The chances of this happening to ANYONE in america are low. The chances of it happening to Lordi... damn, it just sucks.

After reading the girls story however, it seems Lordi wasnt even there when it happened, just poor Rikk.

I'd like to add at this point that Rikk is the man, and I sure hope they catch those punks. Someone on the forum the story was posted mentioned that ANY crime in Kentucky that involves a gun automatically doubles the jail sentence. Those punks are going away for some time if they're caught.

Oh, haha xD. Sorry.

I think they were in the same gang though, I was just reading through the thread where the girl posted her story. It looks like these did it a few days before the ones who went round doing it last night, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were in the same 'gang'.

Ghehe, goes to show Lordi shouldn't tour in the US anymore, come back to us Europeans! xD (just kidding)

Yeah, this is bad news to be honest, I don't think even that worldwide backstage lifetime pass could compensate the feeling of having a gun pointed at your head to be honest. But it's a start... *grin*

Feel sorry for the fans involved, the bodyguard and the tour manager.

Surprisingly, the girl SEEMS fine by her post on that forum. She actually said the night was great overall...

Now, of course she could be suppressing her feelings or hiding her fear, but if she's to be taken at face value, it seems she's a very lucky AND brave person.

See, Lordi fans are tough stuff!

well, you get some areas where shit like that happens every day... but still, i dont think a lifetime pass quite compensates... maybe lifetime pass and free counselling. But i dont think the band is really responsible. Its not their fault if the locals are druggies.

THANK GOD no one got hurt. Poor girl ,imagine going thorugh's enough for anyone to go into a complex...but they all kept cool from what it seems, and acted wisely...

It's really nice that Lordi gave them lifetime passes to all their shows.

According to Ilta-sanomat the thugs shot at Rikk, the manager and some bodyguard, but she doesn't mention anything about any shots being fired.
So either Ilta-sanomat once again exaggerated things, or the girl didn't think it was worth mentioning.

She doesn't seem to take this thing too seriously either, later on in the thread she talks about how she should have fought the guy who was pointing a gun to her head, not a very wise thing to do.

This sounds very terrible that things like that can happen...But at the same time I think that It was A little bit to much...Lifetime passes 'Cause Lordi feel sorry for that? It wasn't Lordi's fault That this happened and I think That this girl overdoing It a little bit...I'm glad that nobody was hurted.
