But besides that, Lordi are doing just fine. Sure, the crowd here in the states weren't too nuts about them, but all over europe there was a Lordi frenzy it seemed.

I think the mistake Aucoin did was put Lordi on Ozzfest and fuckin Bamoboozal... Some will be like "BAH! It is massive exposure yadda yadda" but the crowds didn't understand what Lordi are doing... Which, as much as I hate to say it, led to alot of "boo's".

Lordi on Ozzfest would be a good idea IF and ONLY IF there was another band similar to Lordi on the bill, like another "fun" band, but the 2007 Ozzfest was all nonsense "I'm so angwy here me rawr!" kinda bands, and those bands bring in those kinds fans, the closed minded, "let's mosh and dig up grass to show our agnst" fans.

I know alot of people who would never show their faces at Ozzfest due to the shit bands that play there. I am one of them. Now if Lordi and let's say Hammerfall, Edguy, Gamma Ray, Nightwish, etc were on the bill, those people I know will go to the festival, and those are the people that will like Lordi! That is Lordi's crowd! The Ozzfest crowd belongs to garbage like Hatebreed, Slipknot, Korn, etc... And those fuckers will cry until their pre-pubecent voices can't take no more if they don't hear the detuned and screaming mess that they listen to while circle-jerking eachother with hair-gel while watching scrambled porn on the tv.

Aucoin needs to do a bit more research on where to market his bands nowadays... Come on... Bamboozal!??!?!?

SMF, thats one hell of a point youve put together and i agree on this: Lordi dont fit in with Ozzfest, its not their style. Yes there was booing, that's true. But think about it, wasn't there cheering too? What does the bad crowd matter anyway? If they werent going to buy lordi's albums when they didn't know them, theyre not going to buy them if they don't like them, and that wont make a difference. The important thing is that they made fans out of Ozzfest, not a large number, but they made a few. I dont feel it did Lordi any harm...if anything, Ozzy himself went on the bad scale for choosing Lordi as one of the bands there. Besides, Lordi wanted to make themselves well known in America. What better way to announce themselves except for a festival like ozzfest?

Maybe theyre place wasnt there, true, but then again, looking back, what made Lordi famous in Europe anyway? The Eurovison, right? Now thats definitly not Lordi's place, they definitly didnt fit in, but they stood out, and thats what made them popular.

But i agree on the point that the crowds would have reacted better if there other bands who are similar to them- take the tour in New Zealand that lordi are going to, playing with KISS, Alice Cooper, Ozzy....the crowd will love that, its their style, and they will make many fans out of that.

Yes! And now we will wait and see how the ROCK2WGTN crowd responds! A hell of alot better than the Ozzfest assholes did, I promise you that.

you know SMF, there are some 'ozzfest assholes' who registered here who might feel just a bit offended  But i agree. Lordi are truly going to have countless fans from NZ. The film is obviously helping too :)

Sorry to stray a bit, but he probably means the "Ozzfest Assholes" who stood there and booed the whole time because they didn't believe Lordi belonged there. Hell, a couple of those said "assholes" registered here, if you remember.

Back to kind of being on topic, I'm probably bringing up things that other people before me have said many times before, but the fact remains that they have been busy, and they have been trying to "conquer the world" so to speak. Regardless of management, band, or record label's responsibilites, gaining world-wide fame can be a long process, and using the whole "They won the Eurovision" status might not necessarily work if, sadly, some countries do not know what Eurovision is.

Also, as some others have mentioned, there were some time constraints that did not allow for the release of another record. Heading into new territory and the time set asside for making a movie would have limited studio time and ever rehersals for new materials coming left and right. Indeed, they have admitted to having songs set asside "for a rainy day", but the practice time needed before the studio would have put too much strain on the band.

Now, granted, there are some things that the management could have handled better (Although I'm not going to go into great detail about anything, but I can sum it up with one word: America!), but at least at the same time, they spoiled the newcoming crowds by releasing some singles onto our Arockalypse.

Hopefully with the new gigs upcoming this year, they'll get some more exposure (and better matched bands, as we're seeing happen), and then we can see whether or not the management is doing a good job or not.

Lemme just clarify... Dezy was right on what I meant... The people who think Lordi shouldn't be on stage in front of thousands, and that the screaming bullshit bands should be. Those are the assholes
