Kuorosota 2011

I thought it would be best to make a topic out of this, instead of writting in "I Spotted a Monster!"-thread all the time.

However, it seems like Lordi's chour will be peforming We're Not Gonna Take It this friday!

Good idea. I was tired of trying to find the info in two or three topics

I have some questions... you can watch it live here: http://wwitv.com/tv_channels/b5725.htm ? It goes on Friday but what time? And is it also available in other countries than in Finland?

And is it possible to watch it again later somewhere if you aren´t from Finland?

Thanks! :D

It would be also nice on youtube (if it's legal of course), I can't open it even if I was from Finland :(

Sooo, the first show has just aired, and I must say that the Rovaniemi choir was really awesome, all dressed up as Twisted Sister.

No one became eliminated this first episode, but the points from the voting will as I understand it remain next week. Rovaniemi choir got, ofcourse, most votes, so I would say they are quite safe next week too! :D

btw, one choir peformed Autiotalo by Dingo (The House) :P

Yeah that was a great performance! Here is also a link from the start song with Mr. Lordi signing a small part http://www.nelonen.fi/ohjelmat/kuorosota/etusivu/video/kuorosota-yhteiskappale-larger-life

Mr L sings "his solo verse" at 1:09
(Session) Drummer Ash

"Just support the band that you dig.
That´s your "job", That's what makes the rockmachine rolling
".
- Mr. L

I LOVE OTUS! Proud to be a Lordi fan!

I have never thought I will hear Mr. Lordi singing a song by BSB....

Do you think the choir should once do a Lordi song ? If yes, except Hard Rock Hallelouja, which song of Lordi should you like they do ? Which can fit for a choir ?

I don't think so, since it's a family show and they use "bitch" in the song :P
I would place my bet on Would You Love a Monsterman, since it has to be quite famous so people will regognise it.
But ofcourse, I wouldn't say no to Pet The Destroyer in choir version

I found that "I'm bigger than you" can be fun, like a kind of message to the other choir

In the Norwegian edition of this program, as well as the Swedish, they are performing one of their songs in the finals if they get there. In Norway, Wig Wam's singer performed "Do Ya Wanna Taste It?" while Sweden's Hammerfall vocalist did "Hearts On Fire". The Wig Wam choir won, the Hammerfall's too I beliveve, so GO GO GO Lordi win this shit, get to the finals and make a STUNNING version of Hard Rock Hallelujah with the choir!

I don't think the word "bitch" would be a reason for not choosing a song because children that are so young they would be affected by a swearword don't know English very much. ;)

And I'm quite sure there is a possibility that the choir leaders have to choose one of their own songs for some episode.
Or, I'm not sure, at all. I haven't watched the show very much, only the first season (and now this one) and I don't remember what there was and what was not.

According to Nelonen's website, the next song for the "Lordi choir" will be Thriller by Michael Jackson. Pretty cool I'd say.

God that was ... epic ! All the girls looked like Awa's lost sister or something.
I must say I am really impressed by the vocal arrangements, I was quite curious how it would sound like when Mr Lordi arranges a choir, since we have almost always heard just "hockey/football-choirs" in Lordi's music so far. But this is really well arranged! Big plus to you, L!

Btw, wtf was Darth Maul doing there ...?

When the guy under mask give on his album the name "the Dark side" you understand better the Darth Maul

On which position is the choir ?

I found the choir of Jussi was the best with their interpretation of Poison
