Mr.Lordi's singing

I tried to do it but it just goes growly at first and then just low and clear. how does he do it?

smoke cigarettes, drink Pepsi cola and Dr. Pepper, eat chocolate and have of course a great technique. (Be sure your throat doesn't hurt afterward or while singing because that can cause serious damage.)

I also attempted singing with his voice but I ended up with a sore throat for a while :|
Maybe his voice is naturally like that...

I'm a pretty good singer and I've tried singing a few Lordi songs. However my voice isn't as brutal (and beautiful!) sounding as his and it's a lot harder to hit those shouts that he does. :) but I try anyway.

Aside from that, don't you give up on trying to sing!

When I'm singing Lordi songs, I usually drink a big mug of good European beer (like Heineken) to get the vocal chords flowing. Straight posture, deep steady breath from the stomach (NOT the throat- a common mistake people do imitating the "groggy-ness" of Lordi's voice), and always remember to practice those higher octaves, preferably with a piano. Despite his lion-like growl and raspyness of his tone, Mr. Lordi actually sings in a very high pitched octave. The roar comes from the belly, and Mr. Lordi has a great big one.
But most of all: Practice, practice, practice.

Aww you're lucky I'm still utterly rubbish at trying to sing in his voice :|
Maybe it's harder 'cos I'm a girl...
(Not being sexist here, I was merely wondering if that was the case)

I don't know about that, because my sister can do Mr. Lordi's voice quite nicely. (But I don't know how she does it, so I can't really give any aid to anyone about it.)

I share videos of my attempts of singing Lordi songs but I absolutely HATE it when some viewers say that my voice doesn't match his. I feel like saying "You know what pal? Bite me. I don't care if I don't sound like him! This isn't about sounding just like him, this is about singing my own way to my favourite songs." And I'll tell you why I say that, it's because I don't want to change the sound of my voice to make myself sound more like Mr. Lordi. I want to sing my own way to Lordi songs.

I apologize if this sounds kinda mean. When I get constructive criticism on my singing I don't respond the appropriate way to it at first. :(

You say yourself that you want sing it with your own voice (which is a good decision) then why care just 'cos someone told you that your voice ain't like lordi voice, it's the true, it don't look like L voice.

Same personne say "you have a nice voice" even advice to try Nightwish who is a band that I shouldn't advice on all female voice then in place of see the "you don't match Lordi voice" (when you don't try to match just do your own thing) look at the "you have a good voice for sure"

When 98% say you "cover are nice", why focus that much on those 2% ? No one can be appreciated by all, even not L himself

Whatever you say Isa. :P criticism about my singing I do not always respond to the right way and yes sure only a small amount may not like it so why worry as you said.

But I will say this, I'll bet Mr. L may like hearing girls attempting to sing the songs even if they do not sound just like him.

I know that and that's good. :) The reason why I'm stating at the end that Mr. L may like girls singing his songs is because I might send him one of my covers in a few weeks or so and I'm worried what he might think.
