New fan....needs info

Hello friends! My husband just turned me on to this band. He was checking The End records for reviews and just happened to discover them by accident.
Then he woke me up at 2:00 in the morning so I could watch the videos. So we are wondering how many other people in KY are into Lordi? My guess would be none, but I cannot stop listening to the songs I was able to downlod. So the CD should be here Monday. I;ve always been into Zombie, Alice, Type O Negative, KISS, Rammstein, Halloween & Evil Dead movies and this band seems to fit right into my genre---I guess that would be monster metal. SO let me know, am I the old woman on this board (30) or do we have any other aging 80's metal chicks out there?

You're not the oldest. At least on Finnish side, are people, who are about 30 years old. I don't know what about English side, or German side. Sorry my bad English...

I take it you mean Kentucky? I'm in FL, big fan over here... heard of them about a year ago but never heard their music until recently... everyone who I've been telling to go to their site and watch some vids has become addicted too... heh heh... they must put crack in the videos... :) And no you're not old... 30 ain't bad! My bro is gonna be 30 next year and I'll be damned if he still doesn't act like a kid.. it's all a state of mind... :)

Here's a dumbass question for someone... any Lordi albums in Finnish if, eh, well... ya know... don't hang me from the nearest tree yet for my dumbass question but figuring that ya'll are from there, I'd have thought that your songs would be in the same... but I've just heard English...

New fan here, love your stuff (duh...) I'm a big fan of all the horror type rock, favorites are Lizzy Borden, GWAR, Alice Cooper, W.A.S.P.... I love how Lordi's tunes are very metal but still have a melodic rock sound to 'em, not just screaming and squealing... more like Cooper's stuff... definitely a good thing... off to go spew some crap on other threads!

Hey SS,

I'm 43 in November and I grew up on Kiss, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Alice Cooper. You're never too old to listen to Lordi, though it does freak my wife out. The kids love Would You Love a Monsterman, the song and the video. I love working out to their songs.

I've downloaded the music so my son can learn Enary's parts on his piano.

I'm also struggling to find Lordi fan's here in Australia, but I'm working on it. I just love the threater of what they do. It's so cool. It's like Kiss meets the Evil Dead, but only better.

Hey Buzz, Hey Y'all
Good to hear I'm not the only freak out there. I'm glad I'm not the only otherwise professional, responsible ?adult? with a weird side. I have managed to convert a few friends here in KY USA. and plannning on exposing as many people as possible to the influence of LORDI.

It's a good idea to add them to the work out mix. I will think about that next time I break out the old Bowflex.

When Monsterman is on in the car my 3 year old son says "That's mommy's song." Guess I am playing the CD a little much when it starts to rub off on the kids. Seriously they are great. I hardly ever like a new band this much so this is a great discovery. It's about time I found something new to listen to. I guess it doesn't matter how old you get, you are still the same person. Rock n roll never forgets..................southernspook

Well the answer is odd, from what I can remember Lordi only sing in English, whenever they go on stage to accept a award they hardly speak. The Lordi interview on Radio Melodic is the only time I've heard them talk... and it's a freaky experience.

But if you were to go back a good couple of years ( when Magnum was the Bassist ) Lordi had one song on a big multi band CD, I've never heard it tho but I guess it could be in Finnish.
