Mr Lordis singing voice

Postby judge death » Sat Jul 25, 2009 2:29 pm

When do you think MR L had the best singing voice and how would you want him to sing like? More clear vocals or more darker and growling type?
OR would you want him to have some of his clearer vocals from Get heavy mixed with how he sings in Deadache?
Well this is the singing voice thread. :)

I myself would want a mix between Get heavy´s more clear vocals with Deadache´s more darker. Would according to me sound very well.
And he will probably have even better singing voice in the coming albums. :)

He mixed clean with dark in both Deadache and Get Heavy. And that's how I like him to sing. :D Also, it would be good to have the occasional grunts and growls like from the arockalypse.

voted Deadache era :) I think Mr. Lordi's singing is almost the same in every album ( I mean songs recorded in a studio) but he has definitely improved his live singing since Get heavy. He'll probably sound even better in the next album but I'm not so sure if that's possible at all :)

Great topic JD, I keep having conversations with a friend of mine about Lordi's voice, and was curious when someone would open a topic like this!

Definately Deadache for me! His vocals got really darker at this point, and a lot more gruntier and raspier, a huge improvement since Get Heavy. Huge kudos to him for singing so well live now, his voice has really gotten more darker and sinister these past couple of years. I can only hope he will continue singing in this manner, with an occasional soft, creepy whisper like in "Monsters Keep Me Company" or the beginning of "Man Skin Boots". But the way he is singing right now is perfect for me, after all, Lordi is my personal favorite vocalist, and like fine wine, he gets better at it with age.

And of course, huge kudos to the three things that make this all possible:
Chocolate
Cigarretes
Pepsi

Must agree with you and hmm seen that his live performances has been much better since get heavy time and he now sings clearly better now than back then so he has made a great work with his singing. :)
And the English part as well.

(OwO* for me, Deadache era is the better than previous eras.

To tell the truth, I cannot catch what he sings in these albums because of his voice. But in Deadache, I feel I can hear what he sang in some songs in Deadache clearer than previous, Get Heavy and Arockalypse (I don't have Monsterican Dream because this album is not released in my residence).

I freakin' love that growling, but I wanna hear him more cleaner so the best for me is Deadache, and Get Heavy.

well it's the same voice on every album so it's not a very big difference that you can choose, at least for me. but still, there's that little difference but it's not that obvious.

Hmmm. I can't choose. Mr L's voice evolved during these albums. Like sven said, there is not a big difference between each album.

For me, Every voice is assorted with the album universe. Maybe because we are accustomed...

Well I think the same altrough somethimes on the deadache CD you can clearly hear MR L singing I mean not with his growling voice. for example: the beginning of The devil hides behind her smile,...

---
You can hear very well the change of MR L' s singing voice live.
chec for example on youtube: Lordi live 2003,2004, and 2010 you clearly hear the difference

i have to say that i love Mr. Lordi's voice in the monsterican dream. It's not too hoarse or too soft. Especially in Kalmageddon and Shotgun Divorce, his voice is just perfect.

I don't know how Mr Lordi Manages it, its almost like he's gargling when he's singing. he's got a great voice.

After being on a track of singing like Mr L (and taking up the shameful usage of smoking...again) I can easily say, I understand how it's easy for him to get that gargle now.

Can't really pick out an era that I really like. It just doesn't seem to matter what era the song I am listening to comes from, Mr. Lordi's voice always seem just right for the song no matter what era it is from
