Hey guys, Amari again. I'll bet you all thought I was dead, didn't you? Nah, just taking a well needed break. But now I'm back and ready to update. So here it is. I hope you like it.

Chapter 27. Not the nicest guy

Meanwhile, Holly was already trying to make herself some food in the form of of chicken flavored ramen noodles. Lordi sat there, watching her intently.
"Didn't know you could cook" he said out of the blue, almost scaring Holly.
"I can't really. I know how to make simple things like this".
"Noodles? For breakfast? Holly you're nuts. No wonder why Lordi digs you so much" Amen said making his way in.
"Just the one I wanted to see" Lordi stood.
Amen froze.
"Kalma! The sucker sold me out..." He thought, "Ah shit....I'm goin' to hell, I'm goin' to hell, I'm goin' to hell!"
"You bet you are! Amen what the hell is wrong with you?! Having sexual relations with your protectee is strictly forbidden! You'll be lucky if I'm merciful enough to spare your kid's life!"
"Why make them pay for something I did?!".
Amen didn't care who it was. No one was going to threaten the lives of his kids and get away with it! No one!
"If anything it'd be a mercy killing. A monster human half breed living in either world would never be accepted, and no one knows what it's like to be an outcast better than you do, Amen. Do you want them to suffer like that?!"
Amen fell silent. His leader was, as always, making him think. He was somewhat the outcast of the group, always messed around with. He wasn't totally outcasted though. If that was anyone, it would've either been Kalma or Ox and for good reason.
But the mummy knew he was right. He made a stupid mistake for lusting Kat.
"Do they...have to be killed?" Amen asked, feeling sorely defeated.
"No...but I fear for them".
"No need for it, I'll raise 'em here".
"That doesn't entirely mean they'll be safe from those who consider themselves "pure blood". You know how they are, Amen".
"Damn...".
"You have a choice to make. Either let them live a life of misery or not at all and not have that on your conscience".
Amen sighed and rolled his eyes. "I'll take it up with Kat".

And that's it. I hope you guys like it. I feel kinda bad for Amen in this though. Sorry if you guys feel I'm abusing him.

Chapter 28. Hellbender Turbulence

Shawna woke to the low strumming of guitar strings. She stirred and then finally rose her head up. There, in the cornier, was her newly found guardian Ox, strumming away at his bass.
"Morning" Shawna said stretching.
Ox nodded in response. "Sleep well?"
"Yeah".
She watched him a little while more. He was so good with that instrument and yet his playing style was familiar.
"Kalma..." Shawna thought out loud, "Kalma taught you, didn't he?"
Ox nodded. "He did".
"Ox...about last night-"
"It doesn't matter. It's over now. It's time for me to let it go. I owe you a thanks, Shawna, for helping me see that".
"You're welcome. I really do care about you, Ox".
The undead minotaur set his bass down and sat next to Shawna, but not daring to look at her dead in the face.
"Last night, I fell into a dreamless sleep, a first for me in centuries. I usually have nightmares, but now, it's like something...like something inside of me's changed. I can't explain it Shawna".
"You can't or don't want to?"
Ox said nothing. She reached out and caressed the Hellbull's cheek.
"Tell me. I can't help you if I don't know".
Ox grabbed the hand touching his cheek and set it down on the blanket gently. He looked at it with a tinge of guilt and then in Shawna's eyes.
"When you touch me, I feel this warmth where I was touched. A part of me likes it, but another part of me is repulsed by it".
"I'm sorry".
"Not your fault. It's mine. Last night, you promised to heal me and love me. What if you can't?".
"Ox...I..." Shawna sighed, "I already do love you. I really do. In order to heal you though, you have to trust me".
"What if I can't? What if I'm still devoted to Harmonia?" his green eyes watered as he asked this.
For the first time in centuries, he was feeling grieved and heartbroken. Finally the walls around the Hellbull's heart crumbled and he let the tears fall.
Shawna's own heart filled with pity. She opened her arms for him and he let her hold him as he sobbed over his lost love. Shawna could feel his heartache and told herself to be gentle with him. His very soul was fragile and Shawna would never hurt him.
Her touch was so kind, so gentle. The warmth was still there. She was so much like Harmonia.
"How could I...even think of hurting you? Shawna...what's happening to me?"
Shawna smiled, released him and looked in his eyes. She grabbed his large hand and put it to her heart. She did the same for him, putting her hand on his.
"Ox...you're falling in love with me".
"Even when I don't believe I can..."
Feeling her little pulse against his hand made him calm. Her hand on his chest felt right, almost like it belonged there and nowhere else.
"Shawna..."
"Shhh" she moved closer to him, really close.
He wrapped his arms around her waist and their love was sealed with a kiss.
"I needed that" Ox said.
Shawna smiled. "I know..."

God, don't you guys just love these cute little moments? I think other than me and Kalma and Ashley and Kita, Ox and Shawna are my favorite couple in this fic. Don't ask for my least favorite, 'cause I'm not sure.

Hey all, it's me again. I'm back and ready to update. I hope you like it.

Chapter 29. Biomechanic Man

After everyone was good and fed, the girls and their protectors all met up in the den.
"So, what's up?" Ashleigh asked.
"We need to discuss something important: Your powers. Each of you has a power of your own and that's what strengthens us" Lordi explained.
"Cool" Kat said.
"Where does it all come from?" Shawna asked.
"Three main places" Amen started.
"Heart" Kalma said.
"Mind" Ox added.
"And of course, the soul" Kita butted in.
"So...it's like a spiritual thing?" Ashley assumed.
"In a sense, yes" Lordi agreed, "But depending on the power you're using, it can also be physical".
"Power like what?" Holly asked.
"Glad you asked Holly. Transfiguration is one of the more vital magic aspects and is therefore your first lesson".
"Like what he said, this is very important. With transfiguration, you can become any animal at will as long as your protector is within mental range" Kalma explained.
"What's that?" Kat asked.
"Your ability to use telepathy over long distances. Best damn form of communication. Better than your godforsaken internet that's for sure" Amen answered.
"Then shouldn't we learn that first?" Shawna inquired.
"You already know it. A mental link between minds is established after a monster claims his protectee" Ox explained.
"Okay...that's cool. So how do we change?" Ashleigh asked.
"Not too hard. Just concentrate on the animal you want to become. And when you want to change back, think of yourself as a human".
"Got it".
"Hold on...this won't hurt my kid will it?" Kat asked.
"It shouldn't. Shouldn't hurt you or anything else" Lordi reassured her.
All of them tried, but to no avail. The guys all looked at each other with doubt...
"We got a long way to go..." Kita said.
"And so little time..." Kalma agreed.

So how was that? I know, I just added the part where Amen was talking about the internet. I thought it would be funny.

Sorry about the long wait guys, a lot of crap has happened to me recently and it kinda sucks. But I'm back now and fully focused. Hope you like my new update!

Chapter 30. Dynamite Tonite

"Ugh...my head hurts" Shawna said at the end of the day.
"Don't take this the wrong way, but it was painful just watching you" Ox replied.
"Ha ha, very funny Ox" Shawna rolled her eyes.
Ox laid down next to Shawna. She turned on her side so she was facing him. The two sighed with bliss.
"You're so beautiful" he told her.
"Thank you...and you" Shawna moved closer to him, "Are my sweet, cuddly teddy bear".
"Not so sure about that..."
"Sure you are. You're a bunny in well, minotaur's clothing".
"You think so?"
Shawna smiled and kissed his cheek. "I know so".
Ox felt his cheeks grow warm, as did his whole face. Shawna giggled.
"You're so cute".
"Thank you...so are you".
Shawna thenk kissed him passionately. Both their hearts raced and flames danced between them. Passion was flaring.
"Love me..." Ox breathed huskily.
"For the rest of my life" Shawna kissed him again.
Despite the rules, Shawna and Ox finally gave in to what they felt. It had been so long since he felt a woman's warmth and gentle touch. He longed for it after so many centuries of anger, loneliness, and misery.
Tired out after a long, but beautiful, night, Shawna snuggled up to Ox.
"Oh god...we broke a rule, didn't we?" she asked, slightly worried.
"We did, but I'm not worried about it".
"Why?"
"Because I needed this. Shawna, ever since Harmonia died, my nights have been plagues wtih nightmares, voices, and memories. I was so miserable and lonely, but now I have you to chase my nightmares and fears away".
Shawna had never realized how much he needed her until he told her that. She caressed his chest with light fingertips.
"Shhh...sleep now, my dear. I'll look after you, don't be scared love".
The Hellbull closed his eyes and was suprised that no memories flashed before his eyes. He held Shawna, his heart light and thoughts clear. All that he could think of was this night and his beloved Shawna.
Shawna, meanwhile, felt warm and safe. She felt stronger, like she could take on the world. But right now, she was tired too. She gave Ox one last kiss good night and fell asleep, just to dream of what the future could hold.

Hope that was alright. I'm actually done writing this. I just gotta finish posting and everything. I do have a sequel in the making. see ya guys later.

Chapter 31. Monster, Monster

Kat was brushing her hair, almost ready for bed, and wondering about the little lives growing within her. Amen however, looked troubled.
"You okay, hon?" she asked him.
"I'm fine...just thinking" he didn't want her to worry.
But his precious Kat wasn't fooled. She sat down next to him.
"What's wrong, love?"
"Lordi's giving us a choice about the kids".
"And?"
"He says they'll never be accepted in either world. He thinks it'd be better if they were dead".
Kat looked horrified. "No! He's not touching them!"
"Good" Amen kissed her head, "that's all he needs to hear".
"Who the hell is he to decide what'll happen to them?"
"Exactly...but now we have nothing to fear. The choice was yours and what you say will go".
"What if he tries?"
"He won't. I know him".
Kat was angry still. "Why would he even do that? That's not his decision to make!".
"Easy, it won't happen. Don't worry, they'll be fine".
"How do you know?"
"Because I believe it. And you need to believe it too".
"I'll try to, but if he even thinks-"
Amen cut her off with a kiss, best way to get a girl to shut up. "He won't. I promise".

I'm more than willing to bet he's tried that trick on girls before. I'll bet on it. But anyway, hope you guys liked it. Don't know when I'll update next. sorry it took so long.

Chapter 32. Haunted Town

Another night...Another dream. This one more vivid, more realistic. Memories, so many of them, flashing before his eyes.
His protectee was wide awake, watching him as he moved in tortured slumber. Ashleigh snuggled closer to Kalma. Her touch was kind and soft as she caressed his torso.
"Shhh...I'm here" she whispered.
At her words, Kalma's emerald eyes shot open. He held fast to her.
"What was it now?" She asked.
"This one was back when I was alive...when the war and everything started...so many damn things".
Ashleigh kissed Kalma's face in assorted places, to both chase away his fears and tell him she loved him. It worked, thankfully. The zombie smiled again.
"I know it's bad to think of the past, but I can't escape it. Not even in my dreams" he apologized in his own way.
"It's alright....stuff happens, and the mind is a strange place, Kalma. But put it to rest. I'm here now".
Kalma pulled her closer. "I know...and I never will leave you. I don't say it enough Ash, but I love you...with every breath that's in me".
"You say it plenty of times".
"But yet it doesn't feel like enough. He's going to come, Ash. Kalmaged's coming".
"I know...and we'll be ready for him".
