11th Lordi Album

So I guess we've all seen the band's video posted on their website/social media accounts where Mr. L and Amen stated that they've been working on something that no other band did before (once again) and that they will go on the maximum level of craziness. So what do you think it'll be? New album? Scarchives vol.2? They'll release all of Mr. L's demos at once (I guess this would be the craziest thing they could do as of now )? Or something completely different?
My guess is that they'll do an (maybe double or even triple) album with lots of producers, lots of guests, possibly around a concept and with some special arrangements like electronic, folk and symphonic instruments but who knows right? Personally I'd love if they went all Progressive Rock/Metal like they did on Demonarchy and the track Sexorcism.

New album it is. Glad to see they aren't just sitting on their hands, even though these work horses would probably deserve it. At this point I wouldn't even dare to guess what they have in mind this time, but Killection turned out great, so I'm certanly looking forward to whatever it is they're cooking.

As for Scarchives vol 2, my money's on them releasing something like that for the Get Heavy anniversary in 2022. Makes me feel so old when I realize that the album is already old enough to buy beer and drive a car.

Well now we know that it's a new LP. So what do you guys think? What wil be the theme now? This part of the post really caught my eyes: "it took months and months to have everybody else involved convinced". Maybe we'll finally get the album with those +/- 8 guests? Or maybe some (or all) ex-members will appear on the record? Any suggestions?

I think that it's just such a stupid idea that the label wasn't convinced at first and after months and months they probably said "they'll do it anyway, no need to argue".
Somebody figured out that they're in the studio where they recorded blow my fuse, zombimbo and carnivore, so this analogue thing might be a part of it again. Maybe a monster-disco-album?
Didn't like the analogue sound too much honestly. Or they are rerecording old songs in that style, wouldn't hope so.
Don't expect that much of a surprise with guest stars and old members.
In my opinion, Lordi should take a year off or something. Would be sad on the one hand but Mr.Lordi works so much and I read somewhere that he had some heart problems. Not sure if that's true. In my opinion, he (and them in general) are free to do what they feel best for them. Some people get crazy when they have time off. For him it is no work, it's his passion. Heart problems, not all ask that we rest and some even aren't that serious. We even don't know if it's true and it is also none of our business

As you say yourself "they'll do it anyway", they will because they are the only who can trully choose what they do, pause included

That's why I wrote "I hope he takes a break WHEN NEEDED". That means that he knows best himself. Though I know a lot of people who do not listen to what their bodies tell them, for example my uncle, who died a few years ago because of a heart attack. Again pretty off topic but I had to explain that.

At first I was thinking the same with the stupid idea but then I remembered the Twilight Magazine interview from the SFO era where Mr. L talked about that he had 8 "Yes" answers from some "very cool guest stars" and now that the live music world is struggling maybe those guests have some free time to record their parts. Also in the MonSTARS Of Rock Mr. L said that on The Arockalypse Sebastian Bach was supposed to be a guest and also I've read that Robert Englund was supposed to be on Deadache's SCG (I don't know if this is true tho) so I think that maybe we should keep an eye open for them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. But who knows ? And I mean a man can dream, right ?

I actually really liked the sound on those tracks since I love the music of the 60's/70's so I'm really pumped that they are back in The Sound Of JJ Studio. And I really hope that we'll get some more Hammond organ on this album than the little outro piece on Blow My Fuse. And I wouldn't think that they're making a monster-disco album or in this case an all disco album since that wouldn't be something that no other band has ever done before.

Or they are rerecording old songs in that style, wouldn't hope so.

Mr. L said in the Scream Stream that they won't rerecord their own songs, or at least not now so I don't think that this would be the case.

Again, getting excited for the new album! If they are going to bring in some guests, I hope it's not overblown and the guests are people, that really bring something to the table. Not having guest just for the sake of having them, you know.

I think it's something we could not even think and guess right now and the reveal will blow us all away!

I've been thinking a bit about the new record and since Lordi went back to The Sound Of JJ Studio where all the 70's tracks were recorded for Killection and there are still no posts from any of the members about the new release or even a new studio/producer involved then just what if they will not record only one album but all the 12 supposed Killection albums and this is why they wrote that this is an "insane" and "megalomaniac" idea (?) . Please don't call me an idiot who wants too much but I mean come on, they have all the time in the world now so I'll just put this question/prediction out there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. And just think about it, they were in studio for a month already, and the rescheduled shows will start in February (if Corona won't kill those gigs too) so let's say that they still have 4 months to do this and even after the tour they can go back to the studio and put the finishing touches onto the albums. So yeah if it turns out to be true then at least I could be the one to say that I called it .

Already thought about something like that, too. I think the problem is not just the time for the production but also to write that many songs.
On the other hand Lordi always surprises so anything we guess will be wrong. It's a lot of fun though

I have toyed with the idea of them making a triple album or something in my head as well. One 70s album, one 80s and one 90s. But who knows. We'll just have to wait and see what they've got cookin'.

Well as we know Mr. L has already have above 500 unreleased demos in his vault so he can pick some from those songs and he said that he did write more than 1 song/fictional release year for Killection. Just think about their writing session with Jean Beauvoir, Mr. L said that they "wrote 7 songs together with Jean including Scream Demon" in some interviews. So in this case I don't really think that the writing would be the biggest problem . And since they are already working on it I believe that the songs are written at least musically because a band that is as big as Lordi wouldn't go into the studio without having some already written songs (Maybe without the complete lyrics since vocals are usually recorded around the end of the recording sessions). But yeah who knows right ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ?

They already were in the studio where they recorded blow my fuse, zombimbo and carnivore and now they are in the studio where they recorded Shake the baby silent and Scream Deamon. Didn't really like how these songs sounded but if the songs are good I'm fine with that. On Killection there were some songs I really didn't like but on the other side there were also a few really good songs. I wouldn't need that different productions on one album thingy but I'll give it a chance.

In this case I think you really should start to be worried. Since Mr. L said that he loved how Killection came out with this whole eclectic and varied concept. So I don't think that he'll return to the 'Let's make an album with 12 fun songs where all of the songs sound the same.' way of making an album anytime soon. And actually I love that he's doing it since it makes his music likeable for even more people, which means that Lordi can get even bigger and Lordi can do even bigger things like bigger shows (Maybe in arenas.), much better and more varied merch (Action figures!) and much better music videos or movies (The way Mr. L would like them to be). And personally I don't want Lordi to become another AC/DC, to make a career out of the same sound (Which they didn't do yet but why would they release another Get Heavy sounding LP if they did it already). But all in all I just want Lordi to sound however Mr. L wants Lordi to sound, since Lordi is HIS project not ours. And if you don't like the new stuff, then you can still choose not to buy/listen to it .

I honestly don't see them playing in arenas. That's a bit wishful thinking I think I think they will stay like they are now..maybe a bit bigger but they won't turn into a band like Ghost or so.

The way I sort of perceive the direction Lordi has taken the past few years is a continuation of the attitude that brought them to Eurovision. I think it was Amen who said at the time that Lordi should do the things other bands won't. There are tons of bands making similar music, but not many in the genre are doing weird concepts like split albums and fictional compilations. Lordi are well into their career at this point and Mr. L has expressed a dislike of routine making music in recent interviews. I think what could explain the last few albums is that after so many years the band has an established, loyal fanbase that doesn't need to be converted or convinced to stick around, so Mr. L especially wants to use the opportunity to just have fun on his own terms and explore different sounds he loves.

It's fine . One of my all time favorite Lordi songs is Not The Nicest Guy, but nothing will top the song Sexorcism for me musically, since the whole structure and melodies of the song are just perfect for me. Let's see if they'll top it with the new one .

I don't either sadly but that's what I would love to see them doing. Just imagine, they start to play a song like ZombieRawkMachine and like 15-20 zombie dancers start to swarm the whole stage like in Michael Jackson's Thriller .

There are tons of bands making similar music, but not many in the genre are doing weird concepts like split albums and fictional compilations. This is one of the main reasons actually why I love Lordi this much. Every single new album is a surprise (A VERY good one) for me and I cannot tell you how hyped I am for the new one right now. Since they are improving so much with each and every new thing they release.

That is absolutely one of the things I love about Lordi too, as well as bands like Iron Maiden and HIM. Namely bands that never make the same albums twice, yet at the same time manage to be consistent enough to where each album still sounds like it was made by the same band. Like Mr. L himself has said, it's always the same steak but with different seasonings every time.
